He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.

He has risen
Matthew 27:11 – Chapter 28
It’s a week after Easter Sunday now, but every Sunday is in its own way a celebration of that message the angel gave to the women at the tomb: “He is not here; he has risen.”
That group of women then had just one responsibility: to go out and spread the word.
We, too, share that responsibility and privilege: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Sunday meditation

Proverbs 26:13-16
A sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!”
As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed.
A sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
A sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven people who answer discreetly.

Prayer focus
Lord, keep Easter in our hearts all year long that we may ever keep the joy of resurrection.
